The moment Rohit Malhotra stepped onto the university grounds, the world tilted.
Aarav had expected shock, but the sheer hushed silence around them was almost deafening. Students whispered, professors exchanged glances, and even the university dean stood frozen at the entrance, his mouth slightly open in disbelief.
"He's Aarav's father?!"
"Wait... THE Rohit Malhotra? The country's top lawyer?"
"Holy shit. That means Aarav is..."
Aarav ignored the noise, keeping his focus on his father, whose expression remained unreadable. Ishani stood beside him, her hands clenched into fists. She knew what this meant—Aarav was no longer in the shadows. His war with Rudra Seth had just become a national spectacle.
"Tumne jo shuru kiya hai, uska anjaam bhi soch liya hai?"
("Have you thought about the consequences of what you've started?")
Aarav smirked.
"Aapko kya lagta hai?"
("What do you think?")
Rohit's sharp gaze flickered to Ishani for a second, as if assessing her, before locking back onto Aarav.
"Toh ab yeh poori duniya jaanegi ki tum kiske bete ho."
("So now, the whole world will know whose son you are.")
Aarav stepped forward, lowering his voice just enough for only his father to hear.
"Mujhe farak nahi padta. Kyunki is baar, main sirf Aarav Malhotra nahi hoon. Main uska dushman hoon jo mujhe todna chahta hai."
("I don't care. Because this time, I'm not just Aarav Malhotra. I'm the enemy of the one trying to destroy me.")
For a moment, there was silence.
Then, to everyone's shock, Rohit smirked.
"Agar yeh tera faisla hai, toh hum tere saath hain."
("If this is your decision, then we're with you.")
The battle had officially begun.
Ishani paced the room, her mind spinning. Everything had changed in just one day.
Aarav had gone from being a hidden force to a public challenge to Rudra Seth. And Rohit Malhotra's involvement? That just turned this into a full-blown war.
Aarav walked in, loosening his tie. His usual smirk was gone—replaced by something far more intense.
Ishani stopped pacing.
"Tujhe samajh bhi hai tune kya kiya?"
("Do you even understand what you've done?")
Aarav exhaled, walking toward her.
"Haan, Ishani. Mujhe har cheez ka ehsaas hai."
("Yes, Ishani. I'm aware of everything.")
She shook her head.
"Tu khud ko bait bana raha hai!"
("You're making yourself bait!")
Aarav's jaw clenched.
"Main kabhi bait nahi banta. Main sirf shikar karta hoon."
("I never become bait. I only hunt.")
Ishani's heart pounded. She could see it now—the fire in his eyes, the determination in his stance.
"Aur agar tujhe kuch ho gaya toh?" she whispered.
("And what if something happens to you?")
Aarav closed the distance between them in a second. His hands gripped her waist, pulling her flush against him.
"Aur agar mujhe kuch ho gaya toh?" he murmured, his breath fanning against her lips.
("And if something happens to me?")
Ishani's resolve shattered.
She grabbed his collar and kissed him hard. It wasn't soft, it wasn't careful—it was raw, desperate, filled with unspoken emotions.
Aarav groaned against her lips, his fingers tightening around her waist as he deepened the kiss. Ishani melted into him, her hands sliding into his hair, pulling him closer.
For that moment, there was no war, no danger—just them.
When they finally pulled apart, both breathless, Aarav whispered:
"Main hamesha laut kar aaunga, Ishani."
("I will always come back, Ishani.")
She rested her forehead against his.
"Toh mujhe bhi tere saath le chal."
("Then take me with you.")
Aarav's lips curled into a smirk.
"Tera permission lena kab se shuru kiya maine?"
("Since when did I start asking for your permission?")
She rolled her eyes, but before she could say anything, her phone buzzed.
Her body tensed when she saw the message.
UNKNOWN NUMBER:
"Aarav Malhotra ko bacha sakti ho toh bacha lo. Kyunki ek din ka waqt hai. Uske baad sirf uski kahani reh jayegi."
("Save Aarav Malhotra if you can. You have one day. After that, only his story will remain.")
Her blood ran cold.
"Aarav..." she turned the screen toward him.
Aarav's smirk didn't falter. Instead, his eyes darkened.
"Rudra ne apni chaal chal di."
("Rudra just made his move.")
And Aarav was ready for it.
