Bullets tore through the walls.
Aarav grabbed Ishani, pulling her behind the overturned couch. Glass shattered, wood splintered, and the air filled with gunpowder.
"Aarav!" Ishani clutched his arm. "Yeh log andar aa rahe hain!" ("They're coming inside!")
Aarav's jaw tightened. He pulled out his gun, checking the clip—full.
"Tujhe lagta hai yeh pehli baar ho raha hai?" ("You think this is the first time this is happening?") he smirked, then rolled out from behind the couch, firing.
The first man went down instantly.
The second dodged, firing back. Aarav ducked, grabbed a broken chair leg, and swung it into his face. Blood sprayed as the man collapsed.
But the third was already moving—gun aimed straight at Ishani.
Ishani didn't hesitate.
She grabbed a glass shard from the floor, launched forward, and drove it into his thigh.
The man screamed. Aarav didn't give him a chance—one shot, clean through the chest.
Silence.
Ishani's breath came fast. She had just attacked someone.
Aarav turned to her, his eyes dark. "Tu theek hai?" ("Are you okay?")
Ishani exhaled. "Mujhe ab darr nahi lag raha." ("I'm not scared anymore.")
Aarav's smirk returned. "Accha. Kyunki yeh sirf shuruat hai." ("Good. Because this is just the beginning.")
Rudra Seth's Safehouse
Rudra Seth slammed his fist on the table. "Ek student mere aadmiyon ko maar raha hai?!" ("A student is killing my men?!")
His right-hand man swallowed. "Woh student nahi hai, sir. Woh Malhotra hai." ("He's not a student, sir. He's a Malhotra.")
Rudra's fingers clenched around his whiskey glass. "Phir toh usse Malhotra ki tarah marna padega." ("Then he'll have to die like a Malhotra.")
The war was officially on.
Malhotra Mansion – 3 AM
Rohit Malhotra listened silently as Aarav finished his report.
"Tere upar direct attack ho chuka hai," he finally said. "Ab sirf legal tareeke se nahi, tujhe har angle se attack karna padega." ("They've attacked you directly. Now you have to fight back from every angle.")
Aarav leaned forward, his voice razor-sharp. "Koi legal tareeka nahi bacha, Dad. Ab bas ek tareeka hai." ("There's no legal way left, Dad. There's only one way now.")
Asha Malhotra finally spoke. "Agar tu yeh rasta chunta hai, toh wapas nahi ja sakta." ("If you choose this path, you can't go back.")
Aarav's smirk was deadly. "Main waise bhi wapas jaane waalon mein se nahi hoon." ("I was never someone who goes back.")
Rohit nodded. "Toh pehla war council meeting subah hogi." ("Then the first war council meeting will be in the morning.")
Ishani, standing by the door, swallowed hard. She had just stepped into a world she could never leave.
And she wasn't sure if she wanted to.
