After Noelle's return, Nicolas immediately informed the Anderson family and brought her home.
As soon as they arrived at the Anderson family home, Kimberly rushed over, tears streaming down her face, and embraced Noelle.
"Noelle!"
"Mom."
Noelle hugged her mother tightly, feeling a bit guilty. "I'm sorry for worrying you."
Kimberly, sobbing uncontrollably, shook her head and said, "Don't say sorry. Don't, Noelle. I know everything now. I'm sorry, it's my fault. You've suffered so much over the years, and I didn't know. When you first came home, we were so cold to you, and I didn't realize how much you were going through. I'm sorry, Noelle, forgive me..."
Noelle was momentarily stunned when her mother brought up how they treated her when she first returned. She then revealed the truth to her mother. "Mom, actually, when I first came back to the Anderson family, it was because of a mission. The laboratory asked me to build a relationship with you..."
"I know. I know everything," Kimberly said, cupping Noelle's face. "I heard it was part of an emotional test. They wanted you to form a family bond so they could make you kill us, but you didn't. You even left with Brandon to protect us, didn't you?"
"Yes, that's right." Noelle nodded.
Kimberly hugged Noelle tightly, her eyes filled with warmth. "Noelle, you don't need to feel guilty. The lab is at fault for everything. You did nothing wrong."
"Mom..." Hearing her mother's strong reassurance, Noelle finally felt relieved.
Although Nicolas had repeatedly told her that her family wouldn't blame her, Noelle still felt uneasy. After all, it was because of her that her family had been put through such hardship, and Damon was still in the hospital.
She had prepared herself for a scolding, but to her surprise, when she came home, it was her mother who cried and apologized.
In that moment, Noelle felt a rush of emotion, overwhelmed by both sorrow and gratitude.
"Noelle, welcome back." A soft, slightly stammering voice called out.
Noelle turned and saw Elsie. Her heart skipped a beat, and she rushed over, taking Elsie's hand and saying, "Elsie, I heard the lab ordered you to hurt my family too, but you defied them. Thank you."
Elsie's round eyes sparkled as she looked at Noelle with a sweet smile. "Noelle, you don't have to thank me. I just didn't want to make Adriel sad."
"I knew it! I knew your love for Adriel could overcome the lab's orders." Noelle grinned, her joy palpable.
Elsie laughed, her smile as sweet as ever.
The two girls, both looking adorable, shared a moment of connection, their past struggles making everyone around them feel an overwhelming sense of affection for them.
Just then, Adriel walked over, naturally wrapping his arm around Elsie's shoulders. "Noelle, Damon is awake. Do you want to go see him?"
"Yes," Noelle replied immediately.
Even though her family hadn't blamed her, Noelle felt the deepest sense of guilt toward Damon. After all, he had nearly died twice because of her.
When she first returned, Damon had been so angry, threatening to kill her, but in the end, it had almost been the other way around—such a cruel twist of fate.
Nicolas walked over and placed his arm around Noelle's waist. He leaned down and softly said, "Noelle, I'll go with you to the hospital."
"Okay." Noelle smiled at Nicolas.
Eli also walked over. "I'll go too."
"Eli, what do you think you're doing?" Charlie grabbed Eli.
Eli frowned. "I just want to see how Damon is."
Charlie was beyond frustrated with his brother's lack of social awareness. Noelle had just returned, and these two lovebirds probably wanted some time alone. But Eli was interrupting!
"Don't go," Charlie sighed. "I'll go with you to see Damon later."
"Why? I'm going now!" Eli's stubbornness kicked in.
Then Vincent stepped in, his tone sharp. "Stay at home."
"Dad, why?" Eli protested loudly.
Vincent could only shake his head. "How did I end up with a son who has no social sense at all?"
Noelle saw Eli's pitiful expression and rubbed her head, saying, "Since Eli wants to go, let's just go together."
As soon as Eli heard that, he beamed, looking at the others. "See? Noelle said we're going together. I'm going!"
The Anderson family sighed collectively. This pair of siblings had no emotional intelligence at all.
Adriel exchanged an exasperated glance with Elsie. "Elsie, take it easy."
"Okay," Elsie nodded.
She walked up to Eli, poked him with her finger, and before he could react, she delivered a swift chop to his neck. Eli's eyes closed, and he collapsed. Nicolas quickly caught his brother and turned to Noelle, saying, "You go ahead with Noelle to see Damon."
"Alright." Nicolas gave the Anderson family a grateful smile before taking Noelle's hand. "Let's go see Damon."
"But... Eli..." Noelle was surprised that they knocked Eli out, but seeing Nicolas smile made her momentarily forget her confusion.
She couldn't quite understand it, but the smile on Nicolas's face was so captivating that Noelle just obediently followed him.
After Noelle and Nicolas left, Kimberly walked up to her husband, still a bit concerned. "Vincent, do you think this is too rushed?"
"It's fine," Vincent smiled at his wife. "Nicolas has thought this through much more than we have, and as for the young ones, we shouldn't interfere. Let them have their space."
