"Or what?" Alpha Kellin asks.
"Or you will be removed," she turns to face him.
"By you?" Alex asks. They all laugh except for Aresnial and me.
"You think it's funny?" she grins.
"You don't have the power to force us to do a single thing, Luna," Alpha John scoffs at her and stands. "You can kill this asshole for all I care. But you're not going to come in here with your little knife and your ridiculous shoes to tell anyone of us what you think we should be doing. You're going to need-"
Everyone tenses up when music starts to play. A very inappropriate rap song about wet...things.
"I'm sorry," Violetta puts her hand up to stop him when she reaches for her phone. "Wilde," she answers and pauses. Arsenial laughs at John's expression. "Hey, Baby," she says, and it wipes the smile off Arsenial's face. "You are? Why don't you give me a minute? I'll mark things up for you," another pause. "Perfect. Just give me a moment."
"What the fuck?" John shakes his head when she tucks the phone away.
"I'm sorry, what were you saying?"
"Clearly, Vince has lost his fucking mind," he shakes his head.
"Nothing important. Got it," she nods. "You know, I spent a few months in Paris," she reaches into her jacket. Everyone zeros in on her Glock, but she pulls out the fuzzy feather. "I learned their customs. Paris isn't for the faint-hearted," she caresses her face with the feather and holds it out. "One custom that I absolutely believe we need here in the States is this one," she waves it at them playfully. "S'il vous plaît, signez ces lettres avec le sang de cet homme," she points at Garrison. "Ou je vais tous vous tuer,"
"We don't speak French, Bitch," he growls.
"Then allow me to translate," I say. "She said, please sign these with the blood of this man," I pat Garrison on the back. "Or she's going to kill you."
They all laugh as she reaches into her jacket again and holds up a laser. Her eyes focus on John and the four others at his side. They're the only ones who aren't part of the treaty. She looks around and points a blue laser at the padding on the wall behind the basketball hoop. Everyone jumps when the glass windows on both sides of the building explode. The spot where she pointed the laser has a perfect circle of bullets blown into it.
"There are four positions," she growls. "There are six of you," she crouches down and rips the knife out of Garrison's arm. Blood sprays the table and her face as she stands again. He stumbles away and falls on his ass staring up at her. "Make it work."
The rest of the alliance moves away from the tables. I reach up, taking her off the table as Arsenial and the others move everything out of the way. My heart is pounding in my chest as she stares back at them with a smile.
"You're fucking crazy," Garrison shouts.
"Vincent tried to reason with you all, and you humiliated him," she growls angrily. "You called him a fruitcake. What makes a man?" she asks him. "Do you feel like a man right now, Gary?" she pauses, but he doesn't answer. "It's time to embrace an old tradition once more.
"Blood Ridge was built on the blood of Wolfe's enemies, and you're going to have to pry the deed of the City from our cold, dead hands. The Alpha only needs four of you. No one is leaving this building until those four positions are filled. You wanted a war. Get to it."
The six of them look at one another.
"Wait," Garrison struggles to get up. "This bitch is out of her mind. Don't let her turn us against one another."
"I want that contract." Alpha Travis is the first to release his claws. John looks over at us and nods, releasing his own.
"There you go. Want it," she encourages them. The rumble in her chest makes everyone look at her. An unmated alpha female informing them all that there's a place for them at her side. "I didn't say the rest of you were safe," she glances behind us. "I do believe I said you were all expendable to us."
The other five step away from one another. The dominance and hostility rise. Two knives slide out of her sleeves as she takes her position in front of me.
"Don't," Arsenial growls at the others as we all surround one another.
-Don't move a muscle. Everyone here dies if you get hurt.- she warns me.
Garrison moves first. He calls on his wolf, and he rushes for us. I step back when she drops to her knees. Her arms move so fast it's hard to make out what happened. Garrison falls, creating a puddle of blood at her feet. She lets out a growl. Without warning, Arsenial goes for Ulisess. His claws bury themselves into his throat, and he takes his head clean off his neck.
"That makes ten," Travis pants, moving away from Arsenial.
"So it does," Violetta says, standing up and holding out the feather once more.
The remaining alphas look at one another, and Travis is the first to reach for it. His eyes stay on her for a moment. He smiles at her and reaches down to scoop some of Garrison's blood onto his hand. He dips the tip of the feather into the blood and goes over to the table to start signing the contract. The others do the same. They approach to take their blood and stand behind him.
"Jesus," I breathe out.
"You've gotten soft, brother. Mom would be disappointed in both you and Dad," she sighs and waves the laser around. Everyone ducks down. "Calm down," she laughs. "I'm calling them off. Welcome to the Alliance, Alphas," she says, wiping her heels on Garrison's back. "His wolves are mine. Compensation for the wolves we've lost. You can strip their compound for all I care."
"Aye," I agree.
"Aye," the others follow.
"If I hear any of you pieces of shit Gay-shame my brother or anyone else. You will be treated the same as Gary here," she grips his ankle and starts to drag him out the door—his blood trails behind them.
"What are you going to do with that, Luna Wolfe?" Alex asks her.
"I'm going to show him to his wolves. Then I'm going to shove a stick up his ass and put him on display in front of my father's pack house as a warning to the rest of you. Stop fucking up my brother's plans. I don't want to kill any of you," she growls at us. "But this seems to be the only way you motherfuckers listen," with that said, she drags him out. She pauses just outside. A team of military-dressed guys surrounds her. She points at Garrison, and they take him. "You coming?"
"You're my ride," I glance over at those signing the treaty. She turns around and tosses me her keys. "Alpha Garrison and I will be home before dawn,"
I turn around to see all the other alphas staring at me.
"This is mild. She was in a good mood," I admit. She was testing them. She wanted to see who would obey.
"What the fuck happened to you?" Travis grins.
"I became a father of three when she was sent away. I wasn't going to raise them like my father raised us. The universe got it right when they made the mean one a woman," I smirk.
"What's wrong with her? That's not the person I spent the morning with," Arsenial turns his gaze at me.
"There's nothing wrong with her. She's just our mother's daughter. The former Luna was feral," I meet his eyes. "She knows. She didn't know this morning. I hope you enjoyed your time with her. I hope you got to see how soft she can be. We're connected now. If you so much as touch another female and she feels it. What happened to Julissa and the thing that had been growing inside her will feel like a minor inconvenience,"
"Why didn't you kill me that night?" he whispers. "You had the upper hand,"
"I'd taken enough," I shrug, looking up at him.
"I could take this from you," he growls. "Even if it means destroying what's left of me. What would you do then?"
"I'd die for her if that's what it took to save her from all the shit she's had to do for this city. I'd kill you if I had to,"
"You want to help with this? Some of this shit is in the old language," Kellin taps the papers.
"Of course," I step over the trail of blood she left behind.
"You feel different," Travis says when I flip through the pages.
"Initials," I tap the empty space.
"You were fighting with only half a wolf," Arsenial stares back at me with a glare. "Why the fuck would you do that to yourself? To her,"
"Is that concern I hear in your voice?" I ask without looking up at him. "I didn't realize that was something you were capable of."

        "Or what?" Alpha Kellin asks.
"Or you will be removed," she turns to face him.
