"That is going to come back to bite you in the ass," Arsenial says when I rip the knife out of Cruz's throat. He's gone. He should be grateful, I was getting ready to put him out of his misery with my boot.
"Everything I ever do usually does," I say, wiping my hands on Cruz's shirt. I remove my backpack and stand. "Take you shirt off."
"Here? In front of everyone, Moonlight? Your brother and his bestie are right over there," he says teasingly. "But if you really need it, I'm all yours."
"You got hit," I point at his side. "When you tackled me."
"How do you know that?" he smiles. I turn to my side to show him that it hit me as well. His playful expression vanishes. "You got hit?"
"It would have been worse if you hadn't tackled me. So, thanks. Sit. I can fix it up. It's silver, so it'll leave a little scar and it will take some time for it to heal. Just rinse it out with warm salt water for the next three days so it doesn't get infected."
He removes his cut and lifts his shirt. I wash away the blood with some alcohol. He groans for a moment but then let's out a heavy sigh when I use a big bandage to dry it. The wound is small no bigger than my hand. It really could have been worse if he hadn't gotten to me in time. The silver bullet would have shattered inside of me the way it did on the floor beside us.
"Hold it there," I say, and wash my hands with some alcohol.
"This doesn't seem to faze you," he says as I put the sticker stitches on him.
"This?" I ask.
"The blood, the violence," he clarifies.
"This is what we call a clean sweep. In and out. It's kind of my favorite kind of violence. I get to blow off some steam and rid the world of shit all in one." I tape his bandage and then remove my jacket so I can work on mine.
"Here," he says, reaching for the alcohol. "My girl said this has to be rinsed off with warm salt water for the next three days."
"I'm glad you paid attention," I laugh and let him stitch me up. "Tell her I said thanks on the advice."
"We match," he says when he's done taping the gauze down. I'm going to have to redo this when I get home, but it's fine for now.
"Let's go see what goodies they brought you," I say, putting everything back.
"We got drugs and we got money," Kyle, his VP, informs us. "You good?"
"I'm fine. It was just a scratch," he nods.
"The kid okay?" he asks me.
If I talk about it, I'm going to need a run after this. Beverly has been acting up and the last thing I need is for her to use this to her advantage to keep me in wolf form longer than we need to be. Hiding my mating and my situation at home are starting to affect the both of us and I need Beverly to be taken care of. That's always been my main priority especially after everything I have put us through.
"What kind of drugs?" I ask, walking over to the SUV.
"They look like bricks," he shrugs. "I can open one up."
"There's a Bronco headed our way," Ashton calls out.
"That's Roman. Is there somewhere private I can take this fuck. Preferably somewhere with a drain so I can clean up afterwards."
"The warehouse," Arsenial points behind me.
"Aww, man. I was tracking this bitch. He's supposed to be in Miami in the morning," Roman glares at me.
"Where's the clean-up crew?" I roll my eyes. I didn't know he was after him.
"Ten minutes. I can't believe you got him before me. You suck," he huffs and hands over my toolbox. I remove my holster and begin to pull my elbow-length heavy-duty rubber gloves on.
"I need you to take my brother and his friend back to where they were partying. Do a perimeter sweep and then make sure he gets home. I am going to leave you thirteen packages. You know what to do with them."
"Who is sending the packages?" he asks, picking up my toolbox as I drag the body over to the warehouse.
"Wilde," I call back over my shoulder.
"What are you going to do with that?" Alpha Barnes asks when I drop the body beside one of the metal prepping tables inside the warehouse.
I don't answer him because it's kind of obvious. Roman brings over the boxes we use for things like this. He sets the stack down and begins to build them so that I don't have to later. He sighs looking down at the body.
"He has a son and a mate. How do you wish to proceed?"
"What were you going to do?"
"I was thinking full termination. She's just as bad as he is."
"Locate them. How old is the kid?"
"Twenty,"
"Terminate them both and send her family a donation for the funeral services."
"Wait," Alpha Barnes holds his hand out. "What are you doing?"
"No loose ends. The boy is old enough to think he can come after us to get revenge. We both have families. This is how you keep them safe. I want this wrapped up by the end of the week."
"Yes, ma'am." Roman smiles and smacks Arsenial on the back before putting his arm over his shoulders. "I have a list of shit this man and his mate did to other kids if you'd like to ease your mind. I'd say step outside and let her work, but Vy has the steadiest hands. Her work is flawless. I'd take notes if I were you."
"Let me know if you find anything in the woods. However small," I try to dismiss him again.
"Sure. Teams here. I'll pay them a little extra to clean up after you're done. I'll call when it's done, and thank you for getting me the fuck out of this cage, Mini Tyrant. I was suffocating," he bows and excuses himself.
"You shouldn't be doing this," he says, stopping me from picking the body up. He does it for me.
"The first time I did this was in a lab," I say, and begin to set up. "The woman was alive, and my boss then told me if I didn't do exactly as he asked, he would go into the training room and kill Baby. I've done it about twenty-six times since then.
"The underbosses know my signature already. It has to be me so they know how serious I am. If I did this until I was able to stomach it for a bastard like that one. I am going to do it for my family and my pack. All my things are off limits and everyone needs to know that."
