The city never truly slept, but at this hour, it was eerily quiet. The events of the last few days weighed heavily on all of us. We had uncovered more than we expected-an enemy from our past, a ghost we thought we had buried. And now, they were back with a vengeance.
But amidst the chaos, something else had shifted. Something personal.
Jennie and Lisa.
The kiss on the balcony still lingered on Jennie's lips, the memory playing in an endless loop in her mind. It had been unexpected, yet inevitable. Lisa had always been there, standing by her side, protecting her. But now, there was something more, something neither of them could ignore anymore.
Jennie wasn't one to hesitate. In business, in war, in life-she took what she wanted. But this? This was different. It was dangerous in ways even the mafia world couldn't compare to. Because losing a battle was one thing. Losing Lisa? That was something she wasn't sure she could survive.
A New Mission
Morning came too soon. The sun barely peeked over the horizon when Irene called an emergency meeting in the war room. The team sat around the long, sleek table, maps and files spread before them.
"We received a message," Irene announced, tossing a piece of paper onto the table. It was typed, simple, but the words sent a chill down everyone's spine.
"It's time to finish what was started. Meet us at the docks. Midnight. Come alone, or your empire burns."
Jisoo scoffed, leaning back in her chair. "How original."
Rosé frowned. "It's obviously a trap."
Lisa crossed her arms. "They wouldn't be this bold unless they had something to back it up."
Jennie picked up the paper, her expression unreadable. "Then let's give them what they want."
Irene raised a brow. "You're actually considering going alone?"
Jennie smirked, her eyes glinting with something dangerous. "Of course not. But they don't need to know that."
Midnight at the Docks
The air was thick with the scent of saltwater and gasoline. The docks stretched out into the dark water, the sound of waves crashing against the wooden planks filling the silence.
Jennie stood at the center, dressed in all black, her gun hidden beneath her coat. She looked fearless, but she knew better than to let her guard down.
A single figure stepped out of the shadows. Then another. And another. Soon, a dozen men surrounded her, their faces masked, their weapons visible.
One man stepped forward, his presence more commanding than the rest. His voice was familiar, a ghost from a past she had tried to forget.
"Jennie Kim," he drawled. "You've grown."
Jennie's jaw clenched. "You should have stayed dead."
The man smirked. "Funny, I was going to say the same to you."
A gun cocked somewhere behind her, but Jennie didn't flinch. Because she wasn't alone.
From the rooftops, Lisa, Jisoo, and Seulgi had their snipers trained on the enemies below. From the shadows, Rosé and Irene were ready to strike.
Jennie tilted her head, smirking. "You wanted to finish what was started? Let's finish it."
Chaos erupted.
The Battle Begins
Gunfire rang through the air as the fight exploded around them. Jennie took down the first man with a swift shot, spinning to disarm another. Lisa dropped from her position above, landing gracefully beside her, a wicked grin on her lips.
"Need a hand?" Lisa teased, knocking out an approaching enemy.
Jennie smirked, back-to-back with Lisa as they fought off attackers. "Just don't slow me down."
Jisoo and Seulgi moved like a storm, their attacks precise, lethal. Irene and Rosé worked in tandem, covering each other's backs as they eliminated threats.
The enemy hadn't expected an ambush. They had underestimated the queens of the underworld.
One by one, their numbers dwindled. The leader, the man from Jennie's past, watched with growing rage.
"This isn't over," he snarled, backing away.
Jennie raised her gun, aiming it directly at him. "You don't get to walk away."
But before she could pull the trigger, a sudden explosion rocked the docks. The impact sent Jennie flying backward, the world spinning.
Through the smoke, the enemy disappeared, vanishing into the night.
Aftermath
Back at the penthouse, the team regrouped, tending to minor wounds. The battle had been won, but the war was far from over.
Lisa approached Jennie, her gaze soft. "Are you okay?"
Jennie sighed, rolling her shoulders. "I've had worse."
Lisa chuckled, then grew serious. "Tonight... when you went in alone... it scared me."
Jennie looked at her, surprised. Lisa was never one to show vulnerability.
"You weren't alone, I know, but..." Lisa hesitated before sighing. "Just don't shut me out, okay?"
Jennie studied her, then reached out, taking Lisa's hand in hers. "I won't."
Lisa squeezed her fingers. "Good."
The moment stretched between them, unspoken words passing in the silence. Jennie wasn't used to this-this kind of connection, this kind of trust. But with Lisa, it felt right.
And she wasn't going to let anything take that away.
