The news of the confrontation spread like wildfire. By the time lunch ended, everyone at Blackwood University knew about the three new transfers and their fearless stand against Minho’s gang. Students whispered in corridors, theories and rumors already forming about who these girls were. Some admired them, some feared them, but no one dared to ignore them.
Lisa, Jisoo, and Seulgi, however, were caught in the center of the storm.
“Do you think it’s a good thing or a bad thing?” Seulgi asked as they walked through the halls.
Lisa shrugged. “Depends. If Minho’s group doesn’t retaliate, we might finally catch a break.”
Jisoo, however, wasn’t convinced. “Or it could make things worse.”
Before they could discuss it further, a familiar voice called out to them.
“You three.”
They turned to see Jennie leaning casually against a locker, arms crossed. Irene and Rosé stood beside her, both watching with mild amusement.
“We need to talk.” Jennie’s tone left no room for argument.
Lisa raised an eyebrow. “About what?”
Rosé smirked. “Your problem with Minho. Because now, it’s our problem too.”
Irene stepped forward, eyes gleaming with something unreadable. “You might not realize it yet, but you’ve just become part of our world.”
Lisa, Jisoo, and Seulgi exchanged nervous glances.
Life at Blackwood University had just become far more complicated.
The cafeteria buzzed with tension when the six girls walked in together. Eyes widened, heads turned, and hushed whispers filled the air. Never before had two vastly different worlds collided so dramatically.
Minho sat at his usual table with his group, but there was something different about his posture—stiff, cautious. The bruising of his pride was evident, and Jennie noticed.
With a smirk, she led her group to an empty table. The moment they sat down, the room’s atmosphere shifted. It was no longer Minho’s domain. It was theirs.
Lisa, still unsure of what was happening, leaned toward Jisoo. “Are we just going to ignore the fact that the entire school is staring at us?”
Jisoo exhaled deeply. “I don’t think we have a choice.”
Rosé chuckled. “You’ll get used to it.”
Jennie toyed with a fork, her gaze flickering toward Minho, who was whispering furiously to his gang. She tilted her head. “He’s planning something.”
Irene hummed in agreement. “Let him try. He won’t win.”
Lisa hesitated before asking, “Why are you helping us? You don’t even know us.”
Jennie’s gaze locked onto hers, something unreadable in her dark eyes. “Because we don’t like seeing people suffer.”
Irene smirked. “And because you remind us of someone we used to be.”
Seulgi’s brows furrowed. “Someone you used to be?”
Rosé smiled, but there was something sad behind it. “Let’s just say we weren’t always on top.”
Before Lisa could respond, a loud clatter rang through the cafeteria. Minho had slammed his tray down, his eyes burning with fury.
“This isn’t over,” he snarled, pointing a finger at Lisa, Jisoo, and Seulgi. Then, his gaze shifted to Jennie. “And I don’t care who you think you are—you don’t run this place.”
Jennie leaned back in her chair, completely unfazed. “That’s where you’re wrong.”
The challenge was set. The war had begun.
And the Mafia Queens never lost a war.
