                    Jennie's POV
The moment I woke up, the first thing I saw was Lisa. Her head rested against the edge of my bed, her hand gripping mine loosely. Even in her sleep, she looked tense, her brows furrowed as if she were still worried about me.
I sighed softly, adjusting my position slightly despite the pain in my ribs. The explosion had left its mark on all of us, but I had barely made it out alive. If it weren't for Lisa... I didn't want to think about that.
She had been by my side the entire time-I could tell from the dark circles under her eyes and the way she was still wearing the same clothes from the night before.
I knew I should wake her up, but a selfish part of me wanted to stay like this just a little longer. Because when Lisa was asleep, she wasn't teasing me or masking her emotions. She was just... Lisa.
But of course, peace never lasted long in our world.
The door burst open, and Jisoo strode in, her expression a mix of relief and irritation.
"You're finally awake," she said, crossing her arms. "We were starting to think you were going to sleep forever."
Lisa stirred at the sound of her voice, groaning before she lifted her head. Her tired eyes met mine, and for a brief second, something unreadable flashed through them before she quickly replaced it with her usual smirk.
"Morning, princess," she murmured, her voice husky with sleep.
I rolled my eyes, but I couldn't deny the way my heart skipped at the nickname.
Jisoo sighed, clearly unimpressed by our little moment. "You scared the hell out of us, Jennie."
"I'm fine," I reassured her, though my body strongly disagreed.
"Yeah, well, tell that to Lisa. She nearly tore the whole city apart trying to get you out of that explosion."
Lisa shot Jisoo a glare, but she didn't deny it.
I turned back to Lisa, my chest tightening. I had always known she cared, but hearing it said out loud was different.
I wasn't sure what to say, so I settled for something simple. "Thank you."
Lisa held my gaze for a moment before nodding. "Just don't scare me like that again."
Meanwhile - Irene and Seulgi
Irene leaned against the balcony railing, staring at the city lights below. The events of the past few days weighed heavily on her mind. The Revenants had been a bigger threat than they'd expected, and Jennie's close call had shaken them all.
Seulgi joined her, handing her a glass of whiskey. "You look like you need this."
Irene accepted it with a small smirk. "Do I look that bad?"
Seulgi chuckled, taking a sip of her own drink. "Let's just say I've never seen you this stressed before."
Irene sighed, rubbing her temples. "We're running out of time, Seul. The Revenants aren't going to stop, and now they know we're a threat."
Seulgi's expression darkened. "Then we hit them first."
Irene turned to look at her, surprised by the edge in her voice. Seulgi was usually the level-headed one, but tonight, there was a fire in her eyes.
"You're serious," Irene murmured.
Seulgi nodded. "They nearly took Jennie from us. I won't let that happen again."
For a moment, there was silence between them, filled only by the distant hum of the city. Then, Irene reached over and took Seulgi's hand, giving it a gentle squeeze.
"Then we fight," Irene said. "And we end this."
Lisa's POV
Later that night, I found myself outside Jennie's door again. She was asleep, her breathing steady.
I knew I should go, but something kept me rooted to the spot.
She had almost died.
I clenched my fists, trying to shake the memory of her body lying beneath that rubble. The fear, the helplessness-I never wanted to feel that again.
Without thinking, I reached out and brushed a stray strand of hair from her face. She shifted slightly but didn't wake up.
A soft sigh escaped my lips. "You drive me crazy, you know that?" I whispered.
She didn't answer, but in that moment, I realized something terrifying.
I was falling for her.
And there was no turning back.
