                    Jennie's POV
I woke up to the sound of soft murmuring outside my door. My body still ached, but I was feeling much better compared to the past few days. I sat up slowly, my mind still hazy from sleep. The room was dimly lit, the soft glow of the bedside lamp casting long shadows on the walls.
Curious, I strained my ears, recognizing Lisa's voice.
"She needs to rest," Lisa's voice was firm, though it carried a touch of frustration.
"She needs to know what's happening," Irene countered. "We can't keep her in the dark forever."
I swung my legs over the edge of the bed, wincing at the dull pain in my ribs, and made my way to the door. When I pulled it open, Lisa and Irene fell silent, their gazes snapping to me.
"What do I need to know?" I asked, crossing my arms despite the soreness.
Lisa sighed, running a hand through her hair. "Jennie-"
"I'm not fragile," I interrupted, my voice firmer than I felt. "Tell me."
Irene exchanged a look with Lisa before stepping forward. "The Revenants are making their move. They've taken out two of our warehouses and are hunting down our allies."
I clenched my fists, anger rising in my chest. "And you were planning to tell me when?"
Lisa's jaw tightened. "We didn't want you to worry while you were recovering."
I took a deep breath, trying to stay calm. "I appreciate the concern, but I'm not sitting on the sidelines while our empire is under attack."
Lisa looked like she wanted to argue, but Irene cut in. "Fine. We have a meeting with the remaining allies tonight. If you're up for it, you can join us."
I nodded. "Good. Now, tell me everything."
Later That Night - Mafia Meeting
The underground meeting hall was packed with our allies, some familiar, some new. The tension in the room was suffocating, the air thick with anticipation.
I stood at the head of the table, flanked by Lisa and Irene. Jisoo, Rosé, and Seulgi stood close by, their expressions serious.
"The Revenants think they can take us down," I began, my voice echoing through the room. "They think we're weak because we've been playing defense. It's time we remind them who we are."
Murmurs of agreement filled the room, but some looked hesitant.
"What do you propose?" one of the leaders asked.
I exchanged a glance with Irene before answering. "We hit them where it hurts. We dismantle their operations, cut off their supply chains, and take back what's ours."
Lisa leaned forward, her eyes glinting with determination. "We send a message-they can't mess with us and walk away unscathed."
Seulgi smirked. "I like the sound of that."
The leaders nodded, their uncertainty fading into resolve. Plans were drawn, alliances reaffirmed, and by the time the meeting ended, we were ready for war.
Lisa's POV
After the meeting, I found Jennie alone on the balcony, staring out at the city lights. The wind tousled her hair, and for a moment, she looked almost... peaceful.
I leaned against the railing beside her. "You sure you're ready for this?"
She didn't look at me, but I could see the determination in her eyes. "I have to be."
I hesitated before reaching out, brushing my fingers against hers. She didn't pull away.
"You don't always have to carry everything alone, Jennie," I said softly.
She finally turned to face me, her expression unreadable. "Neither do you."
A small smile tugged at my lips. "Guess we're both stubborn."
She let out a quiet chuckle, and for a brief moment, the weight of the world felt lighter.
But we both knew-tomorrow, the real battle would begin.
