Jennie's POV
The interrogation had been brutal, but necessary. The man we captured gave us just enough to confirm our worst fear-the Revenants weren't just retaliating anymore. They were planning something big.
I sat at the head of the long table in our safehouse's meeting room, my fingers tapping against the wooden surface. The others were gathered around, tension thick in the air.
Lisa sat beside me, her leg bouncing impatiently. Jisoo and Rosé were on the other side, their faces unreadable. Irene and Seulgi stood near the windows, scanning the streets outside like they expected an attack at any moment.
I took a deep breath. "We need to act before they do. We can't let them take another step forward."
Seulgi turned to face me. "We need more than just an attack plan, Jennie. We need an advantage."
Jisoo nodded. "We need to find out what they're planning before they execute it."
I exchanged a glance with Lisa, who had been uncharacteristically quiet. When our eyes met, I saw the fire burning beneath the surface.
"We go undercover," Lisa said simply.
I frowned. "What?"
She leaned forward. "We know they have a meeting planned with their suppliers. If we can infiltrate that meeting, we'll know their next move before they even make it."
Rosé raised an eyebrow. "That's risky as hell."
Lisa smirked. "Good thing I like risks."
I exhaled slowly, my mind already spinning with the details. Lisa's plan was dangerous, but it was also our best shot.
I looked at the others. "Who's in?"
One by one, hands raised around the table.
Lisa grinned. "Then let's get to work."
Undercover Mission - Revenant's Hideout
The underground club was packed, the bass of the music vibrating through my body as I stepped inside. I adjusted the leather jacket I wore, my eyes scanning the crowd. Lisa was a few steps behind me, her expression unreadable as she blended in with the other guests.
We had assumed new identities-Lisa and I were playing the roles of mercenaries looking to strike a deal with the Revenants. The real challenge? Getting their leader to trust us long enough to reveal something useful.
We moved through the club, subtly signaling to the others stationed around the room. Jisoo was behind the bar, dressed as a bartender, her sharp eyes never resting for too long in one place. Rosé was near the dance floor, acting like another patron, but I knew she was listening to every conversation.
A man approached us, his dark suit crisp, his smirk lazy. "You the new blood?"
Lisa nodded, her posture exuding confidence. "Depends on who's asking."
He chuckled. "Come with me."
We followed him through the maze of people until we reached a VIP lounge guarded by two armed men. They stepped aside, letting us in.
Inside, the leader of the Revenants, a man known as Darius, sat comfortably on a leather couch, sipping a glass of whiskey. He looked up at us, his sharp eyes filled with curiosity.
"You're the ones looking to do business?" Darius asked, his voice smooth but calculating.
Lisa sat down across from him, her smirk never faltering. "That depends on whether you're worth our time."
Darius let out a low laugh. "I like you. Tell me, what can you offer?"
Lisa leaned in slightly, lowering her voice. "Weapons. The kind your little war could use."
Darius tilted his head. "And what do you want in return?"
I forced myself to remain calm as Lisa spoke the words that would determine if we survived the night.
"Information."
A tense silence fell between us before Darius smiled, swirling his drink. "Interesting. But information doesn't come cheap."
Lisa grinned. "Neither do we."
The game had begun. Now, we just had to make sure we won.
