The morning after Minho's downfall, the air in Blackwood University was different. It was thick with whispers, stolen glances, and tension so palpable you could taste it. The moment we walked through the main gates, the hallway seemed to part for us, students stepping aside instinctively.
Respect. Fear.
Two sides of the same coin.
Rosé smirked as she noticed the shift. "I love it when people finally learn their place."
Irene chuckled beside her. "They should have known it from the start."
I remained silent, letting my gaze sweep over the hallways. My eyes met Minho's for a brief moment. He looked smaller now, his shoulders hunched, his eyes bloodshot from a night of panic. He was trying to pretend nothing had changed, but he knew. Everyone knew.
He had lost.
I turned away from him, uninterested. A dethroned king was nothing more than a fool in a broken castle.
We headed toward our usual spot in the cafeteria, Rosé and Irene walking confidently beside me. But what interested me more now was the trio sitting across the room-Lisa, Jisoo, and Seulgi. They were different today.
Stronger.
Lisa met my gaze with something close to amusement, while Jisoo looked more calculating. Seulgi still had hints of hesitation, but she had been watching us closely since last night.
They had seen what power looked like.
Now, the question was-what would they do with that knowledge?
Lisa was the first to walk up to us. She took a seat at our table without hesitation, her signature smirk playing on her lips. "So, this is what power feels like?"
Rosé raised an eyebrow, crossing her arms. "That depends. Do you feel powerful?"
Lisa exhaled, glancing around. "I feel... untouchable."
I took a sip of my coffee before setting the cup down, leveling her with a gaze. "Then hold on to that feeling. Because the moment you hesitate, the moment you second-guess yourself, someone else will take it from you."
Jisoo leaned forward, watching me carefully. "And what do you suggest? That we start playing your game?"
I smiled. "The game was always being played. You were just losing before."
Seulgi finally spoke, her voice quieter but firm. "And if we don't want to be part of it?"
Irene chuckled. "Then you'll end up like Minho."
That silenced them.
Lisa let out a low laugh, shaking her head. "Damn. You three really don't hold back."
Rosé shrugged. "We don't have the luxury of hesitation."
Lisa tapped her fingers against the table before locking eyes with me. "Teach us."
The words hung in the air for a moment, a silent challenge.
A slow smirk spread across my lips. "Are you sure? Once you step into this world, there's no going back."
Jisoo and Seulgi exchanged glances before nodding. Lisa leaned forward, resting her elbows on the table. "We're sure."
I studied them for a moment longer before nodding. "Then let's begin."
The first rule of power: Control the narrative.
That afternoon, we walked the halls together, no longer divided. Lisa, Jisoo, and Seulgi had officially chosen their side, and the school noticed. Whispers turned into outright stares. Minho, who had once ruled through fear, was nothing more than a cautionary tale now.
But this was just the beginning.
Rosé led Lisa toward a group of students who were known to spread rumors. "Start small. If you can make them believe something, you can control how the story unfolds."
Lisa smirked. "Let's see how easily they break."
Irene guided Jisoo into the chess club, a group of intellectuals who, despite their quiet demeanor, held a surprising amount of influence. "Control isn't about brute force. Sometimes, the smartest ones are the real threats. Get them on your side, and you'll always be two steps ahead."
Jisoo nodded, already analyzing the room like a strategist preparing for war.
As for Seulgi, I took her to the student council room, where the real decision-making happened. "Influence isn't just about popularity. It's about being where the rules are made. Even a queen follows the law-if she's the one writing it."
Seulgi hesitated before nodding slowly. "I think I get it now."
I smirked. "Good. Now let's see what you can do."
By the end of the day, the balance of power in Blackwood University had shifted completely. Lisa had manipulated the rumor mill into working for her, twisting narratives in ways that benefited us. Jisoo had already begun forming alliances with the most intelligent students in school. And Seulgi-she had managed to plant herself within the student council without raising suspicion.
They were learning fast. Faster than I expected.
That night, as we sat in our penthouse, Rosé stretched lazily on the couch, watching the city lights. "They're good."
Irene nodded, sipping her wine. "Maybe even better than we were at first."
I smirked. "They'll be unstoppable soon."
Rosé chuckled. "And what happens when they start wanting more? When they stop following us and start making their own moves?"
I leaned back in my chair, thoughtful. "Then we'll see if they're ready to be queens themselves."
Because power was never permanent.
And the real game had only just begun.
