Professor John was a New Yorker. After receiving Wei Changfeng’s requests for help, he immediately called his friend.
His clergyman friend had witnessed many weddings, including those who couldn’t hold a wedding, but it was rare for such a situation like Wei Changfeng’s. Professor John spent a lot of time explaining it clearly and the priest finally agreed to be the witness of the two.
Wei Changfeng placed the Little Orange onto the safety seat, while An Cheng also sat obediently. Qi Le’an sat in the front passenger seat while the four of them drove to Professor John’s house.
When they reached the door, Professor John was already waiting downstairs. Qi Le’an got out of the car and greeted the professor. The old John said, “Hurry up and don’t delay.”
It seemed that there was no need to say anything else. Qi Le’an went to hold An Cheng in his arms while Professor John shew Wei Changfeng the way.
The two children greeted John in the car. Because they had no common language, they often couldn’t understand what the other party was saying, but it didn’t mute the children’s like for Old John at all.
The priest’s home was in the suburbs and it took long to arrive there by driving. In the standard American courtyard, the priest in priestly clothes had already been waiting for everyone.
As soon as they got out of the car, Professor John took Wei Changfeng to say something to the priest while Qi Le’an carried the two children out of the car.
“It doesn’t matter,” The priest had a pair of blue eyes and looked very gentle, “I will help you witness it.”
Professor John touched his white beard and said with a smile, “Jack usually doesn’t make an exception in others’ cases!”
Qi Le’an hurriedly said ‘thank you’. The priest smiled at the two children and gave them candies.
A big golden retriever shouted in the yard while the priest led them into the house through the garden. Wei Changfeng took out the certificate of registration, and the priest put it on the table and had a quick flip through it. He picked up the pen but didn’t write.
“Fynn Wei, even if you don’t have a wedding, I still have to ask, are you willing to spend your whole life with Ann Qi?”
Wei Changfeng showed his first smile after answering the phone. He looked at Qi Le’an and said, “Yes, I am.”
The priest nodded and asked again, “Ann Qi, are you willing to spend the rest of your life with Fynn Wei whether he will be poor or ill?”
Qi Le’an couldn’t help but hold Wei Changfeng’s hand and say, “Yes, I am.”
There was a hint of a smile on the face of the priest with a touch of naughtiness. He wrote his name in the column of the witness, and then he had it stamped.
“Congratulations,” the priest said, “The Lord will bless you. Everything will go smoothly.”
Qi Le’an looked at the certificate and thanked him in a hurry. Even Wei Changfeng couldn’t ignore etiquette, so he shook the priest’s hand and hugged him.
There was no need for both of them to be present for the subsequent document submission and Professor John agreed to help them get the marriage certificate. The old professor shrugged and said, “Oh, I didn’t expect that I could get a marriage certificate again.”
Qi Le’an couldn’t help but smile. John’s eyes were filled with wisdom, “I heard that you said you wanted to continue studying in an interview a few days ago?”
Qi Le’an didn’t expect John to watch the domestic interview, so he didn’t know what to say for a moment. John laughed and said, “Just kidding, your theoretical knowledge is rich enough. What you need now is practice.”
Wei Changfeng also smiled.
At night, everyone had a simple meal together. Wei Changfeng apologized for not cooking personally. John shrugged and said, “I don’t dare to eat your meal. If you put sugar instead of salt into it, it will be detrimental to your reputation.”
He looked at the two little babies and asked in Chinese, “That’s right?”
Little Orange didn’t know what he was saying, so she nodded. An Cheng frowned and thought about it, “Fynn won’t mistake sugar as salt.”
Everyone was shocked. They didn’t expect that An Cheng would actually understand what John had said!
After dinner, the two of them saw Professor John off. Before he left, he said to Wei Changfeng, “You have a great lover and family. They will support you to go further. There is no need to worry about the irritation in front of you. No matter what happens, they will always be with you.”
When he said this, both of them were standing outside the car. Wei Changfeng looked at Qi Le’an, who was holding An Cheng in the car, and his eyes were full of gentleness, “This is my biggest luck.”
Professor John smiled, “Let’s go. Go back and pack up.”
Wei Changfeng still said, “Thank you, Mr. John.”
Professor John wished he could push him into the car.
After they returned home, the two children were already sleepy. An Cheng was fine, but Little Orange was already sleeping in the child’s seat. Qi Le’an carried her back to the room and prepared to pack their luggage, but An Cheng was already awake and meticulously putting his and his sister’s things into the suitcase.
Qi Le’an stood by the door and said to An Cheng, “Are you sleepy? Let me do it.”
An Cheng shook his head without saying a word and continued to do his own business.
Qi Le’an smiled and went to pack his own things.
Actually, they did not have much luggage, so they had  finished their packing in about half an hour. By the time Qi Le’an returned to the children’s bedroom, An Cheng was already sleeping on the bed. He looked at them for a few seconds at the door before returning to the bedroom of him and Wei Changfeng.
Wei Changfeng was in the bathroom, but his computer was on. Qi Le’an glanced over and saw that there was all the information about surgery on the screen.
Qi Le’an went downstairs and poured him a glass of milk. By the time he came back, Wei Changfeng had already come out of the bathroom.
He handed the milk to Wei Changfeng, and Wei Changfeng took a sip and kissed him. The sweetness of the milk instantly entered Qi Le’an’s mouth.
“Got to bed early,” Qi Le’an said to Wei Changfeng, “I’ve already arranged for tomorrow’s car.”
Wei Changfeng sighed and felt a little worried.
He finally stopped forcing himself to bear the upset at dead of night. He leaned against his lover and murmured “I’m really worried about Mommy…”
Qi Le’an knew how well Wei Mama’s body was always not very good and her blood pressure was high. When they came out of the closet in New Zealand, Wei Mama had almost fainted. He held Wei Changfeng’s hand and said, “She won’t be in trouble, she must be fine.”
Wei Changfeng managed a weak, unconvincing smile.
Qi Le’an comforted him again, “Even if the diagnosis is confirmed, can’t they still treat it? Wei Mama is such a good person, and she will definitely be fine.”
Wei Changfeng’s eyes were a little dazed and Qi Le’an didn’t know what he was thinking.
After a long time, he said, “Actually, when I was young, my mother’s health has always been bad. The servants in the family said that it was because she gave birth to me that her body became even worse.”
Qi Le’an was a little stunned that he hadn’t heard Wei Changfeng say this before.
Wei Changfeng lay down and put his head on Qi Le’an’s lap, saying, “Later on, her health became worse and worse. The business center of the family was transferred because Papa wanted to find a quiet place for her to recover from the illness.”
Qi Le’an couldn’t help stroking Wei Changfeng’s hair.
Wei Changfeng smiled and said, “Who are willing to leave their children behind and go overseas? But at that time, they no longer had the energy to take care of my sister and me.”
Qi Le’an sighed and Wei Changfeng closed his eyes, “Let’s sleep.”
Qi Le’an turned off the lights and lay on the bed, hugging Wei Changfeng.
After a while, he felt Wei Sama’s body tremble but he didn’t say anything.
The next morning, the two children woke up very early. They were just clever children, and this incident made them even more considerate.
By the time Qi Le’an came downstairs, An Cheng had already finished baking the bread in the toaster and applied some jams on it. There were four cups of milk on the table just for the four of them.
Little Orange also got dressed. She sat quietly on the sofa, hugging her doll of Peppa Pig.
Wei Changfeng followed downstairs and was stunned when he saw the scene. Then he smiled and said, “An Cheng, you got up so early today?”
An Cheng nodded and said to the two adults, “The breakfast is ready. Come and eat.”
Qi Le’an had lost his heart to him.
He didn’t expect a nine-year-old boy to not only take care of his sister but also two adults.
What a kind-hearted boy he was!
Wei Changfeng fried eggs for the two children and everyone sat at the dining table and finished breakfast. The two adults went upstairs to take down their luggage, and then the honk of the car booked by them was heard outside the door.
Everyone was silent along the way to the airport. When they went through security and whipped through customs, none of them spoke to each other, but in the end, Qi Le’an couldn’t stand the dull atmosphere. He coaxed Little Orange and said, “Hey, do you remember the song that Sis Emma taught you? Have a try.”
Little Orange nodded obediently and started singing.
“City of stars…”
The child’s unique voice was heard in the VIP room, which was a little deep but very charming.
“Are you shining just for me…”
Qi Le’an hugged Little Orange and hummed the tune while An Cheng sat beside them and listened to it. The little boy didn’t like to sing. Even Emma coaxed him a few times, she was unable to let him sing.
“City of stars… There’s so much that I can’t see…”
Wei Changfeng couldn’t help leaning on Qi Le’an’s shoulder and humming the song too.
Time seemed to stop at this moment, only the melodious singing fluttering. The busy passersby stopped and quietly watched a little girl sing.
“You never shined so brightly…”
After she finished the song, Qi Le’an kissed Little Orange on the forehead and smiled, “You’re really good at singing.”
Some enthusiastic westerners around them applauded. Little Orange couldn’t help blushing, and even Wei Changfeng also smiled.
The flight numbers were piped over the public address system. Qi Le’an held Little Orange in his arms while Wei Changfeng held An Cheng’s hand, and the four people proceeded to the gate for boarding together.
There was still a long way to go, and they had no idea what was waiting for them. But they all knew that they had each of them in their hearts.
On the other side of the Pacific Ocean, Wei Xin’an hugged Snowball in her arms and looked at her mother on the bed with her eyes swimming with tears.
It seemed that in just a few days, the old woman who liked smiling had been aged a lot.
Wei Mama had been groggy ever since she fainted. The results of the pathological test would take a few days, but the doctor advised hospitalization for her first.
Wei Xin’an had lost no time in calling her brother. At that time, she was still firm, but during the call with Sheng Chang’an, she couldn’t help crying.
Wei Mama perhaps noticed something and suddenly opened her eyes. She looked at her daughter in front of the bed and managed a weak smile.
“Xin’an… Don’t afraid.. Mommy is fine.”
“Where’s your Papa? Don’t tell him first…”
“Xiao Feng… Xiao Feng is coming back, right? I just had a dream. I dreamed of you guys playing in our garden…”
As she said this, Wei Mama closed her eyes as if she had no strength.
Wei Xin’an couldn’t help but cry again.
The little Snowball babbled in her heart, reaching out his chubby little hand as if he wanted to tear off his mother’s tears.
