It was pouring rain outside the market, and my hands were frozen, turning purple.
Cradling my pregnant belly, I prepared to deliver fish to a restaurant, hoping to finish this big order and get home to Elon.
The upscale city restaurant was a first for me. Soaked and shivering, I was stopped at the door by a waiter.
After a long wait, the manager finally led me to the kitchen.
I followed, suppressing my confusion, as the decor grew more lavish.
Suddenly, a push from behind sent me stumbling into a private room.
Laughter and chatter filled the air, mingled with smoke and perfume.

Just before arriving, he’d texted me to come home early because of the rain.
My mind was in a daze as I stared at him.
“Elon, why is this Emma staring at you? Do you two know each other?”
A young heir’s voice cut through the noise. Before I could respond, Elon’s cold voice rang out.
He glanced at me like I was a stranger.
"I don’t know her."
"Why would I be associated with someone like her?"
