Taking his own time to devour her mouth with soft tantalizing kiss, Vasan distanced himself from Keerthi.
Standing up from the chair, he too sat on the cot beside Keerthi. She immediately sat on his lap and tangled her hands around his neck. Vasan quickly banded her waist protectively and kissed her tip of the nose.
Detaching herself, Keerthi asked "ok how come all this sudden new change happened? How did you accept my love? What made you accept? How come my parents accepted? Ohh.. wait, is your family outside"
"woah ... woah.. wait my little tigress. I will explain what happened"
Vasan started narrating her what has happened till now.
After meeting Keerthi at her home, Vasan too liked the moment he saw her. But he wanted to upscale himself and grow well in terms of life.
As he said he wanted to concentrate on his business first and so does not want to marry. His thought was his wife would not have the desired attention if he married sooner due to his commitments.
One day Chandran returned from onsite. Upon returning , he happened to sit beside Vasan in the flight. Chandran was surprised to see him and so do Vasan. They both had general talks first.
By his talks with Vasan, he found out that Vasan has now started a new startup IT Company. He is returning from his trip to meet one of the clients in abroad for a project.
Whereas he was not sure if Vasan is already married. Just then , the air hostess served Coffee. Taking two glasses of them, Vasan gave one to Chandran and took another for himself.
" I am still not married" came the reply from Vasan who judged what was going on in Chandran's mind.
Chandran was amused at his answer. Though he felt happy, he was hesitating to ask him if he is ok with marrying Keerthi.
He did not want Vasan to think that he is considering him because of his ceo position and remained silent.
Both Vasan and Chandran did not talk anything further and continued their journey with general talks about office and other stuffs. Later they bid bye with each other with Chandran getting his business card.
Days passed. One day Chandran was asked to take up the position of legal advisor of a new company instead of his colleague.
His colleague who was working for that company announced his resignation due to his settlement in abroad with his son. Hence Chandran was given the task to take over that position.
At first, due to the busy schedule Chandran did not take a careful look of the Company details. Upon reaching there, he came to know that it is none other than Vasan's company. Seeing it he felt elated.
He moved to Vasan's cabin to witness him sitting ever so majestically in his chair working on his laptop. Chandran felt the selection of his daughter as really good.
Vasan seemed perfectly a ceo material not just by his looks but by his way of working. He witnessed his leadership and authoritativeness while waiting for him in the reception lounge.
Giving a knock on the door, Chandran asked if he could come inside. Seeing him,Vasan quickly stood up from his chair,moved towards him and greeted him with handshake.
Getting to know that Chandran is his new official lawyer for the company, Vasan felt happy and surprised.
They both talked for half an hour about work related topics. Just then Vasan received a call from someone. He excused himself from Chandran and attended the Teams call.
While Chandran on the other hand made few calls and messages. He then dialed Keerthi to come pick him up from the office without informing about Vasan.
Keerthi did not agree to it instantly, but with constant pestering he made her agree and sent her the address.
Finishing up the call with his team mate, Vasan and Chandran marched to the refreshment/relaxing area to talk in private. He ordered the receptionist to bring them two juices.
Talking nothing in particular, Chandran started with narrating about Keerthi's marriage proposals and rejection.
This time he wanted to ask if Vasan is ok with marrying Keerthi or not but kind of struggled to start with that topic.
Vasan understood his intention and his hesitation. " My status has neither increased or nor decreased. Though I am a ceo of a company , I am still the same in status"
Chandran was amazed at his answer. "Status does not matter for us. Our daughter's happiness matters the most. You are are really a gem of a person and worth the wait for my daughter"
Vasan did not reply and had a look at him. This time Chandran understood what his thoughts are and clarified it before he could ask.
"I know you are thinking about my better half. It is actually Ambika more than Keerthi who pesters me to find you again and fix the marriage even before I know that you became the CEO.
Initially she was hesitant, later on she felt you as the perfect fit for my little princess. She believes irrespective of your status you could keep my daughter happy. And I too agree on that"
Vasan just smiled. The juice arrived and Vasan gave one to Chandran. Taking the glass, Chandran continued,
" Moreover she wanted to marry off Keerthi soon to the most eligible and perfect bachelor with good behavior. And that is you"
"so as to Aunt can romance her lovey dovey husband without Keerthi's disturbance" uttered Vasan with teasing smile, while taking a sip of the juice.
"Yes you know how Keerthi is " Chandran replied with a big laugh smacking Vasan's arms playfully.
Both Chandran and Vasan laughed at their talks. Any one who see them for first time would think an easy going and jovial Father and Son duo conversing.
Vasan explained to Chandran that he needs some time, at least few months for him to settle out things before he takes Keerthi's hand for marriage.
Chandran too accepted it , as the aadi month was approaching(people don't do marriages or search for alliances in this month), post which he too was occupied with other office works.
"ok but what if Keerthi agrees to marry some one else? What if her mind changes?"
When Vasan was about to answer he got a call. Completing the call Vasan informed Chandran that he has to go a different place to meet one of the client and wants to leave soon.
Chandran nodded his head and got up from the sofa. Vasan gave a firm handshake bidding bye to Chandran and left to open the door as he was in hurry. But he immediately stopped and turned towards Chandran.
"I know about my palkova, she will not marry anyone else other than me. Neither do I. She is mine. And sorry for leaving our conversation abruptly"
Chandran had a big heart felt smile and gave a side hug to Vasan and patted his shoulder. He was about to inform that he has called Keerthi to meet him. But Vasan was in hurry and left the place and boarded the lift.
Chandran tried calling Vasan, but it was busy. So he himself came down. That was the time, Keerthi saw Vasan and met with accident.
Vasan came to know about her accident later on and met her at the hospital when she was sleeping.
He felt sad for seeing Keerthi in this state. Vasan then spoke with Ambika giving her assurance that he will marry her and just needs some time till he and his siblings are settled to an extent. Ambika too agreed for it.
Finally Vasan left the place giving a kiss on Keerthi's forehead who was still sleeping.
He controlled his urge to kiss on her cheeks but abstained from it considering her parents who were present in the same room.
Due to this fact, Chandran and Ambika stopped the marriage process for few months.
One day, they went to meet Vasanthi and Vasan at their house to discuss further about their engagement and other details.
That is when Keerthi met Vijay and Amrita on the cafe. The meet was all well planned by everyone which Keerthi thought was coincidental.
The elders then decided to have the horoscopes checked with astrologer to get the dates for engagement and discuss about other details.
As planned by them all, Chandran and Ambika on a weekend went to meet the astrologer with Vasanthi ,Vijay and Amrita. They first went to Vadapalani where Vasan resides and from there to astrologer.
Vasan too went to the same floor as Keerthi in Forum mall and stood near the waffle counter for her to look at him.
Keerthi thought it was all her lucky day to meet him and started conversing with him.
While Keerthi was talking he messaged Ambika and informed that he met Keerthi in the mall and she is with him now. He asked her about Keerthi's favorite waffle flavor and ordered the same.
While they were conversing, Amrita called him to check if he has met Keerthi. He hummed an yes and cut the call.
That evening Vasan, who already agreed to have the engagement now and wedding little late, was convinced or could say forced by fate to agree for an early marriage.
Planning to give surprise to Keerthi, everyone acted well and made Keerthi believe that Vasan is getting engaged with some one else and a different person is coming to meet her.
Next day, seeing Vasan in her room, Keerthi's anger shoot up at him for making her wait longer.
