Sigh, Dominic consistently likes this type of naive, simple omega without much cunning or brains.
Being a personal secretary in the company - isn't this pushing herself into a fire pit?
"Just behave yourself. I'm also a company director - firing you would be a matter of minutes. But I want to keep you by Dominic's side because you're stupid enough that you might cause some trouble."
"Alright, no more wasting words. The meeting is about to start. Prepare the tea and come in, secretary."
After saying this, I patted her shoulder.
Her face alternated between red and pale with anger.
The meeting began, and Dominic came in.
Eva really did go make tea.
The water she served me was scalding hot. She pretended to accidentally spill it on me.
I cried out in pain: "What's wrong with you? Can't even handle such a simple task without being clumsy? Serving me such hot water - are you doing this on purpose?"
Eva put on a fake innocent act: "Sorry Evelyn, I didn't mean to. My hand slipped. Please don't be angry."
She deliberately acted flustered while wiping my clothes.
"In the company, call me Miss Ashton. Don't you have any manners? You can't even do something as simple as serving water properly, and you haven't learned basic etiquette either."
I said irritably.
Dominic looked over and gave me a cold expression: "You said it yourself - it's such a small matter. Why make such a big fuss? Just wipe it clean or change clothes. Being so harsh on a newcomer is unnecessary, isn't it, Evelyn?"
Eva looked like she was about to cry: "Sorry Miss Ashton, I'll pour you a new cup."
What innocent act is she putting on with me?
Such hot water spilled on me - I should be the one crying.
Everyone present was watching the show, not one daring to speak up.
"Enough, the meeting is about to start. No time to watch your performance. Get out."
Dominic gestured for Eva to leave.
Then he said to me in an icy voice: "Satisfied now?"
Everyone's eyes fell on me, wanting to see how this drama would continue. Those who understood could see what was happening.
If I continued to make a scene at this critical moment, it would only make things more awkward.
"Satisfied. Let's start the meeting."
I answered coldly.
This year's dividend meeting went as usual. I received 20 million dollars, so who would care about Dominic's 2 million?
The soaked dress was uncomfortably sticky. I barely endured until the meeting ended, then came out to see Dominic and Eva in the office.
"Evelyn, come in for a moment."
It was Dominic speaking.
"What is it? Don't delay my mealtime."
I said impatiently.
"Don't be so harsh on newcomers in the future. What will others think?"
"Are you okay, Dominic? She served me a cup of scalding water and spilled it on me. Instead of asking if I'm alright, you're rushing to defend your little lover?"
"I didn't hit her or scold her - I just said she has no manners, and you're already heartbroken? With such a fragile heart, how will she survive in the workplace? I'm doing this for her own good."
Eva's soft sobbing reached my ears, leaving me somewhat baffled.
"Miss Ashton, I know I was wrong. I'll be careful next time. Please don't be angry."
"Oh, I can't accept such an apology. If there's nothing else, I'm leaving."
"Come home for dinner tonight. I'll wait for you."
What wind is blowing today that he's waiting for me for dinner?
"No thanks, I have plans."
I declined.
He probably didn't expect me to refuse him, looking at me coldly: "That pretty boy from the fried chicken shop?"
I nodded.
Dominic: "Evelyn, we haven't ended our contract yet. Don't go too far!"
"Then hurry up and sign it. Don't delay my dating."
Dominic angrily threw the ashtray from the desk at me. I couldn't dodge in time and it hit my face.
In my anger, I picked up the ashtray and threw it back. Eva suddenly blocked in front of Dominic, and the ashtray hit her head directly. Blood immediately flowed down.
I had used deadly force.
Dominic rushed over and slapped me.
"Evelyn, how dare you!"
