Soon, amid their shouting, a massive convoy arrived.
Sharp-eyed people immediately recognized: "Griffin Corporation! Those are Griffin Corporation cars!"
"Why are they here?"
Amid the whispers, dozens of black sedans stopped simultaneously.
Drivers ran to open doors as Felix, our organization's second-in-command, walked over with a stern expression.
Xander's demeanor immediately became panicked.
He hurried over: "Felix, we don't have any scheduled meetings between our organizations today, do we?"
"What brings you here personally?"
Felix coldly pushed him aside, his gaze searching the entire venue.
Seeing Hudson, he rushed over in three quick steps and bowed deeply: "Boss!"
Then he gave me another deep bow: "Director Cross!"
Instantly, everyone around stared wide-eyed.
Those who had been whispering all fell silent, looking at me in terror.
Xander began stuttering: "Director... Director Cross?"
"Felix, you must be mistaken? She's just a horse trainer—how could she be your Director Cross?"
"Besides, aren't you already Griffin Corporation's CEO? Why do you need to bow to... her?"
Felix didn't answer, only took out a first aid kit and knelt on one knee to clean and bandage my wounds.
Xander looked even more panicked.
He turned to Hudson, his voice trembling: "Who are you? Why does Felix... call you boss?"
Hudson was amused by his words, studying Xander coldly.
"When Felix said your Sullivan family's time was up, I didn't believe it. Now I see it's true."
"You're the first person who dared speak to me this way, and probably the last."
With each word Hudson spoke, Xander's face grew darker.
He'd been a golden child since birth, born with a silver spoon—when had he ever suffered such humiliation?
Just as he was about to explode, his secretary quickly restrained him.
The secretary didn't dare look our way, only lowered his head and spoke rapidly: "Mr. Sullivan, you absolutely cannot anger them!"
"Griffin Corporation's influence in the capital far exceeds ours! We can't handle the consequences!"
"Though your fiancée's backer has never appeared publicly, even Felix has to bow and speak respectfully to him. Isn't that explanation enough?"
Hearing his secretary's words, Xander staggered and nearly fell.
He looked at me in shock: "What's your backer's real identity? Who are you? Aren't you just a horse trainer?"
I didn't even lift my eyelids, sneering: "Without the status as a fiancé, you're not even qualified to speak to me."
"I gave you many chances before, but you never took any of them."
"Now even your father can't save your family. I suggest you quietly await your final outcome."
Xander seemed to finally understand my words, backing away several steps.
Though Seren didn't know what I meant, sensing Xander's tension, she was too scared to make a sound.
The remaining staff who had bullied me were even more panicked—some were already crying.
Xander shook his head in disbelief: "No, no way!"
"Our family won't be defeated so easily. I can find a solution!"
Then he pull out his phone and dialed a number.
The other end answered quickly, and Xander said emotionally: "Bro, I've encountered some scammers here impersonating Griffin Corporation and causing trouble at my facility!"
"Did you receive any action notice today?"
The other end denied it.
Xander became arrogant again: "I knew that horse trainer couldn't be some Director Cross—just a fraud!"
"Even my bro at that level didn't get notified, so you must be fake!"
"You still have time to apologize and leave, or I'll make sure you die miserably!"
Hearing his words, Felix laughed in disbelief: "You mean I'm fake too?"
"Did your brain get kicked by a horse today?"
Seren seemed to regain her confidence too, linking arms with Xander arrogantly: "Who knows if you took dirty money to throw Griffin Corporation's name around?"
Felix was beyond speechless and too lazy to waste more words on them.
Soon the "Bro" Xander mentioned arrived on scene.
