As the two groups had more places to look around, there were also a lot of delicious goods to try out. What Saiki had in his mind the most, though, were sweets. He smiled to himself, realizing it'd been a good idea to save up.
The others were more excited about tourist attractions. It wasn't too bad of an idea to visit Montreal or all the places, considering there were quite a lot of historical things you'd be able to learn about. Well... If only there wasn't the language barrier.
Since last night, Saiki and Y/N had gotten closer. The two of them walked at a moderately quick speed, thus ending up walking beside each other. Surprisingly, the E/C-orbed girl was considerably chatty.
"Oh, yeah! There's this one manga series I fell for. It's amazingly good and I think you'd love it. It's about-"
Before she could finish, Saiki pulled her aside. Y/N had narrowly avoided bumping into Hairo, who'd been sprinting. He sped into a halt, apologizing profusely- And, right after, inviting the group (who'd all caught up) to whatever sporty thing he had planned next.
Lucky for them, Y/N noticed their hesitance and decided to speak up and delay the Hellish athletic activities.
"To be honest, we have something planned. We'd like to sightsee for a while longer, but once we finish all of the stuff we have planned, I'm sure it'd be no problem tagging along with you guys," she explained.
Saiki sighed in relief. Not visibly, of course. Hairo was slightly too active for his liking.
"I see! Alright then, have fun!" Hairo cheered, walking away with the rest of his groupmates.
"Umm, Saiki," Teruhashi said as the other group walked off into the distance. "I heard there would be a night market. Would you like to accompany me to it tonight? I'm sure it'll be enjoyable!"
"Plus, I can surely get him to say 'oh'! He and Y/N have been getting closer lately... They walk beside each other all the time now. I mustn't let that brat- No! She's my friend... I just can't let her beat me! I'll woo Saiki first!"
Saiki groaned, "Good grief. It's not like I can decline..." he thought to himself.
The psychic then nodded, wondering if the others would be going too. In the back was a certain H/C-haired girl, looking a bit downed as she watched the two interact.
"Awh man, I wanted to invite Saiki too. Maybe I'll just ask Kaido or Aiura, then."
Those negative feelings went unnoticed by the pink-haired boy.
Nighttime quickly hit. After all, time flies by when you're having fun, right? Y/N jabbed her food around, wondering who to go to the night market with when a certain lemony classmate stepped in.
"N/N!" Aiura slid the chair opposing Y/N out and took a seat. She crossed her hands and placed her chin upon them, giving her friend a big grin. "Heyy, do you wanna go out with me tonight?"
Y/N smiled back in amusement. "Like a date?"
Aiura winked. "Only if you want it to be! But no, silly. The night market? I have a feeling you wanted to go. So do I, but I have nobody to go with. Do you wanna go together?"
Her H/C hair shifted as the girl nodded, placing her utensil down. "Sure! Just let me go put the dish away and get my wallet in my room. I'll be done in a bit!"
Y/N stood up, placing the dish down onto a pile, before making her way towards the elevator. Nobody was using it, so there was no need for a wait. As she rushed out when her floor was reached, she'd noticed a blue-haired female standing outside the room's door, awaiting Saiki.
"Hey, Teruhashi!' Y/N greeted cheerfully. She was in a good mood, feeling refreshed that someone had invited her first. "Are you waiting for Saiki?"
Teruhashi nodded with a smile. "Are you going too?"
"Yeah, with Aiura."
"That sounds nice."
It was awkward. Y/N slipped her way to the door, inserting the card into the scanner. Teruhashi let out a soft gasp, apparently surprised.
The L/N turned back and faced her with a look mixed with confusion and concern. "What's wrong?"
Teruhashi reached for her mouth, a finger upon her lip as she retraced her mistake of letting her surprise slip out. "A-Ah, it's nothing... Isn't that Saiki's room, though?"
The other nodded in response. "Mhm. For some reason, Saiki insisted on rooming with me, haha..."
On the other side of the wall, the one being spoken of was screaming internally. "Please shut up, you're making things worse..."
There was an uncomfortable laugh in response, made by the beautiful girl. "I see. That's rather strange."
Y/N shrugged, opening the door. "I guess so. I'm in a hurry, so catch ya' later!"
She ran inside, giving Saiki- who was standing near his bed- a pat on the shoulder in an acknowledgement, who stood rigid at her touch and grabbed for her bag. Shit, 10 minutes had already passed by... She needed to hurry. Her friend was, after all, waiting for her downstairs.
"See you in the market maybe, Saiki!" Y/N gave one last shout before speeding towards the elevator, which was once again conveniently empty. She stepped back out into the lobby, where Aiura was waiting on one of the couches.
"YN! What took you so long?" She rose from the seating and hopped over to her friend. "Let's go! It's probably already crowded there; we've gotta check things out before it gets no fun!"
Aiura grabbed Y/N by the arm, dragging her off into the distance.
Saiki stood in the back, watching his... friend disappear from view. While Teruhashi's thoughts were boastfully cheering herself on, the psychic had his regrets.
"I should've asked her to go with me instead."
Regardless of the one being left behind, Y/N and Aiura had arrived at the night market in no time due to the gyaru's fast pace, along with Y/N's ability to catch up.
"Whoa, this looks beautiful..." Y/N breathed, glancing around in amazement. What caught her eyes were, of course, the food stands. Poutine?! Hell yes.
They continued browsing the dark lanes lit up by beautiful lights; occasionally bumping into some familiar faces. No notable interactions though, of course.
Aiura was dragging Y/N around some of the stands selling clothing. The clothes being sold seemed very cozy, so Y/N didn't dislike the experience anyways. After all, her new scarf had already become a favourite article of clothing for her.
While making their rounds around the corner, the two of them noticed a gleaming light and of course!... It's Teruhashi. Come on. It's always Teruhashi. You should know better by now.
The blue-haired girl held a cup of ice cream, while Saiki had his hands in his pockets as she trailed behind Teruhashi. The female was being bombarded with boys complimenting her again.
"Good grief. Coming here with her was a mistake. There are so many people that I can't enjoy the night market in peace."
Y/N seemed to notice his discomfort. It's been what, 2 days? And she'd already gotten quite good at reading his emotionless emotions- Or whatever. Maybe that's a talent she possessed; reading emotions?
Just kidding. She's simply sharp and Saiki had let his guard down for a moment.
"Saiki! Teruhashi!" Y/N called out, making her way towards them. Her happy expression made her glow, too. It was almost enough to match Teruhashi.
"Y/N!" Teruhashi responded with a closed-eye smile. "How is it so far?"
Aiura trailed not far behind but headed towards Saiki instead. "Saiki! Let's ditch them and go on a date!"
"Aren't you here with Y/N though?"
"I was joking! I wouldn't ditch her, even for you."
Aiura stuck her tongue out playfully, knowing Saiki wouldn't give a flying fuck either way.
-"It's been fun," Y/N answered. "It's so pretty here! The clothes are quite comfortable, too."
She buried herself into her scarf once again. Plus, there were some comfortable sweaters she'd spotted out and bought. The crinkling of the plastic bags with the clothing stored inside made that obvious.
"I know, right? And the people here are so kind!"
Surrounding them were a bunch of new fans. A few of them ran stands, offering free things from it to Teruhashi- Who politely declined, as much as she was mentally screaming to accept. who wouldn't want free things?!
A few people approached Y/N, too, who was majorly uncomfortable with the attention. She gave them kind smiles and slowly backed off, but clearly, there are going to be douchebags who ruin the fun for them.
Everything was going fine until some jerkwad decided it was a good idea to grab Y/N's arm.
The female shook the hand off; a hand who belonged to a man seeming around the age of 20-25. His expression grew into an angered one as he started yelling at the girl.
Y/N balled her hands, taking a deep breath. "Would you please, just fuck off?" She said in the most chilling tone she could muster. She wasn't going to present herself as an easy target for the pervert.
Honestly. It was such a nice night. Why did it have to go like this?
Saiki noticed the commotion, and so did Aiura. Y/N was glaring at the man who was still attempting to be overly touchy. Teruhashi glanced over in worry.
"You bitch! I'm such a gentleman and I'm giving a lady like you a chance. You should be grateful!" he hissed, crossing his arms and stalking off.
Aiura gave the man a stink-eye and took a photo of him before he was able to get away from the camera completely. "I'll be sure to report that, thank you."
Saiki himself had an angry vibe rising around him, though his expression didn't show it. Maybe he'll curse the guy, or knock him out in the middle of something important... Who knows? The anger was enough to make the man, who was now far away, flinch.
Well, he'd noticed Y/N's discomfort with the crowd. Just as another wave of people was coming in her direction to ask if she was okay, Saiki took her hand and dashed off.
They stopped after a bit more running. Of course, Saiki had his powers turned off during all this, so God knows how many people they ran into due to his inability to dodge incoming crowds without his telepathy. Y/N knelt, her hand on her thigh as she took a moment to catch her breath.
"Are you okay?" Saiki asked, not needing the moment but giving himself the impression of being tired anyway.
Y/N looked at him with another one of her smiles, nodding. Her shoulders heaved as she still had to take a moment to breathe properly. "I'm alright, and you?"
He nodded.
A bit more silence later, Y/N had finally been able to catch her breath. "Thanks for that... Are you sure about dumping Teruhashi though?"
Another nod.
Y/N bit her lips, feeling guilty about having left her friends behind. "They should be alright..."
Saiki took her hand again, dragging her off. "Let's go together."
She was taken aback by the boy's bluntness but nodded cheerfully. "Okay!"
She wasn't gonna let her night be ruined.
A bit more sightseeing was done before they'd realized it was almost the curfew. While Y/N went to see one more stand, Saiki had checked out a different shop and something had caught his eyes.
"Man, I'm tired as Hell," Y/N whined, collapsing on her bed. "You know, maybe for once I'll sleep before 4 AM," she joked.
Saiki sighed, "Good grief."
"Well, I'm heading to bed," Y/N pestered on. "If you need anything, wait until the morning because I'm gonna sleep like a log and kill anything that disrupts me!"
"Wait."
Y/N turned her head in curiosity, as the psychic called out for her.
"Give me your hand."
Y/N held her hand out in confusion. Saiki, of course, kept his stoic expression but it was surprising when he took her hand and placed a necklace into it.
The necklace was a rounded-bottle pendant resin piece with what seems to be a pink camellia flower placed inside of it. Though, the girl couldn't quite tell due to the darkness. Nonetheless, Y/N brightened up at the gift, practically gleaming.
"It's gorgeous!" She said with a voice overflowing with delight. "Aren't these super expensive...?"
Saiki grumbled. "Good grief, it doesn't matter."
Y/N's mouth turned upwards as she gripped the necklace in her hand. "I guess it doesn't. Goodnight, Saiki... Thank you."
He turned away, heading for his bed. However, he himself had a smile on his face, too.
"... Whatever."
